@ntimmel: Beauty, Judgment, and the Eye of the Beholder Daily Video 9/27/26 We like to pretend we’re evolved, objective creatures who judge other people by the content of their character. But we don’t. Our brains are visual processors that make sweeping moral judgments in a fraction of a second based entirely on how someone looks. It’s called the halo effect: attractive, well-groomed people are instantly assigned a suite of positive traits they never earned. We automatically assume they’re smarter, more competent, and inherently more trustworthy. They get lighter sentences in courtrooms, quicker promotions in offices, and second chances they don't deserve. We call their arrogance "confidence" and their flaws "charming quirks." Flip the coin, and society’s shallow cruelty reveals itself. People who don't fit conventional beauty standards, or who don't dress the part, carry an invisible tax. Their competence is questioned before they even open their mouths, and their mistakes are judged far more harshly. We sanitize this bias by calling it "first impressions,” or "professionalism," but it’s just surface-level prejudice wrapped in simple-minded judgment. Note: one thing I forgot to discuss regarding this particular video, is the fact the woman running the visual experiment acted differently with each look. In her first, more “natural” state, she’s semi-downtrodden. Listless. After her makeover, she perks right up. She’s smiling, outgoing, energetic… Maybe I’m just attracted to wallflowers. Who knows? (The Shadow. The Shadow knows.) Authors Note: This channel is a hodgepodge of everything… family, funny, politics, parenting, and daily observations. I make fun of all religions, both major political parties… there’s a lot of sarcasm, and the channel isn’t for everyone. Karens and crybaby snowflakes are welcome here, but they’re the first to whine and complain when I say something they don’t like. Because that’s what Karens and crybaby snowflakes do. But if you can hang, I’d love to amuse you. #people #beauty #information #interesting humor, comedy, funniest undiscovered comedians, fast comedy, laugh, jokes, laughter, live stand-up comedy, stand-up comedy, stand-up comedian, comedian, hope, love, laughing, live, energy, positivity, enjoyment, art, artist, arts, performing, performance, perform

Anthony :
the other day i saw a dude with a huge tattoo on his forehead and other tattoos that don’t look like legit tattoos but jail tattoos. he was being stopped by the cops and he was asking why they were always messing with him. It’s not right, but if your look is “I’m on parole”, then you’re exactly who they are looking to target. They love subjects with search conditions and have drastically reduced 4th amendment rights. they have a lot of these projections that they put on people. personally, i think it’s ironic that the strength in using this tactic is actually a weakness that can make you vulnerable to manipulation.

Kathleen :
Your thoughts on each look is based on your own personal experience as well. So if you had a bad experience with someone with similar looks that will change your views of how you see her.
