As it states on Dvla site, it’s got to be displayed on the front of the vehicle and that’s what he has done. It doesn’t say where so he’s 100% right and what he has done.👍🏻

£100 fixed penalty is the ticket at the roadside. If you take it to court and you're found guilty (which you will be) it's not a FIXED penalty, its whatever they decide on the day, plus costs.

I doubt you will win in court. It’s the drivers responsibility to ensure your vehicle is good to go basically every time you drive the vehicle. You should have repaired the number plate and fixed it back on before your journey. That’s what I expect the court to say. Keep us updated on how it goes.
