I’m 19 and went to secondary right after highschool, I’m hating it. I quit, and started going on so many hikes and just out in nature. I have no money and no plans for the future, but honestly you make it seem like it’s easy and everything will actually be okay

I’m 19, unemployed, and have no idea what I want to do for the rest of my life. I tried college but it just wasn’t for me, it was just too expensive and overwhelming. My parents started fighting in the month of October, eventually getting divorced in the middle of my senior year of high school. I regret the things I didn’t do while I was still in school, I always felt burnt out at the end of the day and I didn’t have any friends. My little sister is now starting high school and I’m starting to think she has it better than me because she’s more energetic and has friends. I feel like everyone hates me for giving up and don’t want me around, to even have fun, I feel like I don’t deserve to be happy anymore.😭

I’m 19, on my second gap year, with no friends left at home who aren’t at uni, and I’m constantly questioning whether I’m doing the right thing with my life. I have a part-time job, but one thing travelling has taught me is that I’m so much happier when I’m away from home than when I’m stuck in the same place. Most of the time I feel completely lost, but I must be doing something right because I’m always choosing what genuinely makes me happy over what other people expect me to be doing. Going to uni for the sake of getting a degree feels like settling and filling time right now. In the last year alone, travelling has taught me more about myself, other people, and the world than the rest of my life combined. I still don’t have a plan, but for the first time, I’m genuinely excited about whatever comes next.

I'm almost 19 I had planned to go to college after I graduated but deep down I knew I didn't want to bc I just wanted to live my life but I was also afraid because idk what I'm doing with my life and with the judgement of others of not going to college but it's been the best decision of my life to not go to college
