Sorry it didn't work out for you — but please don't use it this way. A reciprocating saw isn't made for grass; the stems wrap around the blade and it can pull the tool or your hand in. That's a safety thing, not a sales thing. This saw is built for wood, PVC, branches, metal and light demolition — that's where it cuts through in seconds. More of material issue than the product. I bet a dewalt or Milwaukee would do the same with the same toothed blade
