@felidaecentre: 🐆 Sometimes volunteering means simply sharing a moment. ❤️ Today, our beautiful cheetah Dot decided to take a little walk alongside one of our volunteers before coming over to join them as they sat and relaxed together in the veld. 🌿🐆 Moments like this are incredibly special, but they also tell an important story. Dot and her sister Dash were born into a life where they cannot simply be returned to the wild. They depend on the care, protection and commitment of the people around them. Animals in our care are not here because we want to keep wildlife as pets. Many arrive at rescue centres because, for different reasons, returning them to the wild is no longer a safe or realistic option. Some have become dependent on human care, some have never learned the skills needed to survive independently, and releasing them without the right conditions could put their lives or the lives of wild animals, at risk. That is why our work is so important. ❤️ As a volunteer at Felidae Centre, you don’t just come to see animals. You become part of the team that helps care for them, maintains their enclosures, prepares food, creates enrichment and gives them the best quality of life possible. And every now and then… you get a moment like this. 🥹🐆 Sitting quietly in the veld while a cheetah chooses to come and spend some time beside you is something you will never forget. 🌿 Come volunteer. Come learn. Come make a difference. Because sometimes the greatest memories aren’t the ones you plan, they’re the ones where an animal simply decides to sit beside you. ❤️ 📍 Felidae Centre | South Africa 🐆 Wildlife rescue • Conservation education • Hands-on volunteering #FelidaeCentre #VolunteerWithUs #Cheetah #DotTheCheetah #CheetahConservation
