The five men arrested over a suspected terror attack on RAF Fairford will all be bailed today, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing has said, as police refused to be drawn on what they may have known about the plot, and those allegedly involved. The five men arrested over a suspected terror attack on RAF Fairford will all be bailed today, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing has said, as police refused to be drawn on what they may have known about the plot, and those allegedly involved. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor told reporters that “following extensive interviews and inquiries the five men who were arrested are being released on police bail this afternoon". He added: “To be very clear, this does not mean that the investigation is over. They are subject to stringent conditions on their movement and contact with others. “They absolutely remain under investigation as we explore multiple lines of inquiry." The men are all British nationals from London: Three are 24, from Camden, Westminster and Willesden. The others are 23 and 25, both from Westminster Mr Taylor would not comment on what may have been "previously known" about the plot, or those involved. US President Donald Trump earlier suggested the men were being watched, and Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said today that a farmer who called police after seeing suspicious behaviour around the base ony had a "partial picture" of what had taken place. The men were arrested outside the Gloucestershire base during the early hours of Sunday morning and reportedly stripped amid fears they were wearing suicide belts. Mr Taylor said police are considering "every possible angle including that this may be actively committed by proxies or individuals, either knowingly or unknowingly, working on behalf of a foreign state." Iran "categorially rejects" involvement in the plot, labelling it "fabricated speculations".
