🇿🇦🚨 THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN. BUT HAVE WE LEARNED THE LESSON? Listen carefully to what the President is saying. He expresses regret over the violence in Soweto and Durban. He explains that the implementation of the Constitutional Court’s decision requires further assessment and evaluation. He also emphasises the government’s commitment to respecting the courts, upholding the rule of law and protecting people. Now, let us think about what this means. South Africans have the right to express their concerns about immigration. They have the right to demand effective border management, accountability from Home Affairs, employment opportunities and public safety. Nobody should tell South Africans that they cannot question their government. But there is a difference between demanding accountability and taking the law into your own hands. If the government believes a directive needs to be reviewed, it is the government’s responsibility to assess it and determine the appropriate lawful way forward. If the immigration system is failing, demand that the government fix it. If officials are corrupt, demand investigations. If someone does not qualify for asylum, let the authorities determine that person’s case according to the law. But why burn vehicles? Why loot businesses? Why put innocent lives in danger? Have these actions created jobs for unemployed South Africans? Have they improved public services? Have they solved the problems within the immigration system? Or have they created even more suffering for ordinary people? Remember, when a business is destroyed, the consequences do not stop with the owner. Workers can lose their jobs, families can lose their livelihoods, and communities can lose access to essential goods and services. And when innocent foreign nationals are targeted simply because of their nationality, we are no longer dealing with individual accountability. We are dealing with collective punishment. HERE IS THE POINT I HAVE BEEN MAKING: IF YOUR PROBLEM IS WITH THE GOVERNMENT, HOLD THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE. DO NOT MAKE INNOCENT PEOPLE PAY FOR ITS FAILURES. Jacinta has repeatedly called on the government to listen to South Africans. Now, the President is addressing the situation and explaining the government’s position. But this brings me to a very important question: 🚨 WHO WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE BURNING OF VEHICLES, THE LOOTING OF BUSINESSES AND THE DESTRUCTION OF PEOPLE’S LIVELIHOODS? Who will answer for the losses suffered by business owners? What happens to the workers and families who depend on those businesses? And who will be held responsible when innocent lives are put at risk? These are questions that deserve serious answers. Let us also remember that withdrawing the Home Affairs directive for review does not mean the Constitutional Court’s judgment has been overturned. The government still needs to determine how to comply with the judgment while managing the asylum system effectively. This debate must be based on facts, not misinformation, assumptions or anger. South Africans deserve to be heard. Foreign nationals deserve protection from violence. Business owners deserve justice. And everyone must be held accountable for their own actions. 🔥 A COUNTRY CANNOT SOLVE ITS PROBLEMS BY CREATING MORE PROBLEMS. 🇿🇦 Let the government do its job. Demand accountability. Uphold the law. Protect innocent lives. SOUTH AFRICA, THE QUESTION IS NOT JUST WHO IS RIGHT. IT IS: HOW DO WE SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS WITHOUT DESTROYING LIVES AND LIVELIHOODS? 👀🇿🇦 #SouthAfrica #Jacinta #StopXenophobia #SayNoToViolence #RuleOfLaw
