havent watched the movie but i think the movie conveyed womens struggles so forwardly due to its display appealing more as a fun childrens film. meaning that the aim couldve been to also help children understand and maybe take the message into life when these struggles appear and how to challenge the beliefs systems upheld by a patriarchal society. idk tho i kinda wanted to throw my 2p in

i can understand why people hate ur take on this but saying “it isn’t supposed to be subtle” is a stupid argument. If they wanted to prevent ignorance against women so bad, they shouldn’t have made a two hour corporate advertisement, which would probably drive more people away than towards.

the whole point of the movie was its message about feminism being forward and unsubtle due to it literally being made for children, specifically young girls to teach them they don’t have to fit a specific societal view of women-hood or conform to male expectations, the whole point of barbies in general is to explicitly show young girls they can do and be anything a man can, that also being apart of the main message the movie means to express its literally MADE to be ‘unsubtly’ conveyed
