My hair dresser, who lives in Aus now, was at a family function at 3 years old. Loyalists firebombed the church hall and he lost 9 members of his family. He watched the violence unfold huddled with his mum and sister, terrified under a table before escaping. He has a burn on his ear and neck and says he still has nightmares about that day 30 years later. The victims who survived are still around today, it’s not that long ago.
