I think no matter our situation as we get older we ask is this me? Those dreams and goals I had were they pointless? Do I never get to go after them? At least that’s been on my mind the last year or so. Dogs matter to me. In fact one of my dreams as a kid was to open a sanctuary for all animals that adopted and cared for the animals and I’d partner with brands and vets to keep it going and all these things but I know that’s never going to be. I know though that my love for animals can be through supporting the efforts of someone who is doing it. All small rescues should really band together with networks and supplies and donations and become something bigger. Sadly, not all humans as you said do this for leaving good footprints but rather for their own selfish reasons like notoriety. That’s not helping the dogs (and cats). SMH. Hugs 🥰 Sending my support 😉 tell me the cleaning supplies and I’ll research the best price and ship them to you. You deserve convenience because that opens more time for the pups, long term it cuts costs. So it’s a win.

I felt this 💯, all of it. My Loki was from ARF, an organization that has simply been blessed by their location and demographic; on the other hand her Auntie and Uncle are as independent as it comes. They in particular hold a golf outing to raise funds but, like you said; you’re in it or not. 🖤🖤😁😁🫶🏽🫶🏽

My advice is DONT do it. You can help by donating volunteering. Because it’s emotionally physically n financially exhausting. Watching other rescues on TikTok cured me of opening a cat rescue

Just being a foster for 17 years I read an article many years ago about rescue. It said that we don’t even touch the surface. It broke my heart and questioned why I was doing what I was doing. That’s when I realized we will never save them all. It’s when i realized euthanasia is humane. I fostered a 10 year old golden lab mix and the rescue spent around 10 thousand on her to fix her leg. She came to me for long term rehab. I normally get the sick, dying, and the “underdog”. Anyway, I didn’t agree with the money spent on her. Never said anything of course but think of all the other animals they could have saved. The rescue didn’t even have the funds. They applied for the Cinderella Fund here in the Bay Area. Anyway, thank you for the therapy session. [Red heart]🐾
