In the state of Ohio (I’m not sure about other states) if you have a 5 lane road (4 being travel lanes and the center being a turn only lane) only the traffic traveling the same direction of the bus is required to stop

In Michigan yes he has to stop. In Ohio he would not.

I was told the only time you don’t have to stop is when there’s a center divider in the road, so he should’ve but I also don’t run into a whole lot of buses where I live 🤷🏻♀️

All states have different laws. In my state, North Carolina, you do not stop in opposite lanes if there are 4 lanes and a middle lane. Other states are different though

There’s a median and double lanes no reason for the truck to have to stop over by me is even worse cause they have trees in the middle but we still have to stop

Where I live when you have that many lanes oncoming traffic does not have to stop. Kids are not allowed to cross that many lanes.
