I hope the ppl vote "yes" for tenant protections. The root of the issue- the real issue here, are the laws that allow for this type of housing commodification and capital accumulation to begin with. The exploitation will always exist and be a growing threat otherwise. Tenants deserve so much more! I also worry about the city "reforming" the bill once (if!) it gets passed on the ballot again. It seems like the ppl can vote for something they want, and the powers that be still find numerous ways to shat on us because this is no democracy.

Can you explain to me how this part of measure one will work for landlords in the military who are out in the field or stationed over seas? “Require landlords to bargain in good faith with qualifying tenant unions and attend quarterly meetings when requested. They wouldn’t have to accept every demand”
