There are many different reasons why problematic sexual themes are so hated. Usually when people enjoy fiction where people are killed, it's clear that they don't enjoy the actual death of innocent people but instead the premise behind why they were killed and how it adds to the character (id hope at least). Though, when a problem is sexual and someone enjoys the person doing the sexual act (inc3st for example), usually they like it for their own reasons, weird reasons. You could argue, "Oh it still can add on to the character though and they've changed!" Though usually when characters have this problem in fiction, it is the author's self insert.

You kinda had an argument with the black and white game, but Rudis did not need to be a pedophile in story at all for the story to go with the same route. It is a unnecessary additional thing that just sours the whole series.

rudeus greyrat is genuinely one of the best written mcs ive seen, his character development and depth is amazing just to be so pushed aside by the people who cant come up with anything else to prove his character is badly written other than the fact he’s been a horrible person before. there is reason for him being the way that he is, because it’s used so well to show how he changes his own mind over a long period.

I think fire punch is one of the best representations on this, they dont care about the cannibalism, or the complete defacing of all religion and specific killing of children, but its only bad cause of implied incest under very specific circumstances that make sense😭
