Part 1: Figured I would use Americas first national park as my first post! Here are some facts to know before traveling to Yellowstone National Park! If I don’t mention something that you are interested in please comment! (PS yes these are all of my own pictures that I took) * There are 5 separate park entrances. Most common ones used is through the city of West Yellowstone and through the City of Gardiner. Both of these cities have hotels that are technically not in the park. * there are a couple of ways to pay your fee to get in. They have the option of a one time $35 7-day fee pass. However, most people use the America, the beautiful pass, which is the generic national Park pass that gets you in to all of the national parks. * Old faithful Inn is the historic hotel that is right outside of old faithful geyser. Big thing to keep in mind is during summer it’s HOT. They do not have AC. You do not need to be staying there in order to go inside of it. * All camp sites and lodging fills up fast. I would recommend planning at least 6-8 months in advance but this is also dependent on how far you are traveling. * Winter time here is a difficult time to travel unless you are specifically going to snowmobile around. Due to the snow pack, it does reach a point where you are unable to travel there unless on only a snowmobile. * This park is HUGE. Just the loop itself is 142 miles. If you are going just to see wild life and drive around it is going to take you days to see most of it. Hiking will of course add on more time. Plan accordingly! * If hiking, make sure to regularly check the weather. The weather is know to change in an instant. I have been there when it’s sunny one second to storming the next.
