In that i had a very chill and progressive homeschool upbringing from my mother with a masters degree and we almost entirely dodged the evangelical bullshit i feel like my experience is such an outlier 😂

My *historical geology* professor at Baylor University (suuuuper Baptist school for those who don’t know) told us the first day that we didn’t have to agree with the dates he was teaching us. The 6000th birthday of earth happened while I was there. It was wild.

My mom pulled me out of middle school because I was bullied and having a hard time. And in my state at the time, you either had to be part of a homeschool coop or through your school district. So we had to join the co-op. My mom got starter curriculum from some super religious friends my mom had. Lemme tell you. I went through those LifePac sets from AOP and I was like I cannot do this mother. The correct answer cannot be Jesus 😭😂

I was taught in a church where all the kids grade 1 through 12 were in the same classroom cause we were given PACE books to learn. It was all self taught. My biggest memory of the curriculum is when my history book taught me that everyone spoke different languages cause we tried to build a tower to heaven so god punished us by knocking down the tower and made us all speak different languages so we couldnt cooperate like that anymore. People who understood each other formed groups and split off to form colonies around the world. Yay history! :)

My daughter plays Flag Football with some homeschoolers. For reference she goes to a public high school. They come to her school to play sports and they are weird AF.
