My perspective is that the system is set up to be modern day slavery. You receiving a paycheck is just an illusion of freedom. If we are all struggling to have our basic needs met, then the system in place is not designed for our benefit. None of us are free.

I lost my job and the same day so did my bf. Lost the vehicle shortly after and so now we can’t go anywhere. We get a ride every two weeks to stock up for two weeks and we have more than we had than when we worked because of the cost of gas and maintaining a vehicle for a job. So now when everyone has to get used to not having this luxury of just driving when they want and where, we’ve gotten used to it. We walk and spend time in the river valley.

It’s already happening.. my husband is a custom grain hauler. He takes all the combined corn, soy beans, canola etc from the farmer to the elevators. What the farmers are paying to haul it away just covers his diesel. There’s no profit

We desperately need to adopt a 4 day - 6 hour work schedule. There’s no good reason as to why not. We’re meant to enjoy life with our loved ones, not work it away 8plus hours a day 5-6 days a week. Plus flexibility for scheduling should be the norm.
