5 tips for his mental health 🧠 (read caption) Whoever you are, these 5 steps can aid you in improving your mental health; Clear space. Clear mind. 🧺 Probably one of the most simple and effective things you can do, this is just a practice that can set you on your path to start thinking in a more clear and positive way. Next would be to get your calendar out and start ‘day stacking’. Write down a list of all the things you need to do that week and schedule when to do them. Then commit. Focus on your nutrition. 🥦 There are certain foods like dark leafy greens, foods rich in omega 3 and wholegrain produce that, in studies, have been shown to help with your mental health. Let’s take that with a pinch of salt and just start by cooking for ourself, avoiding processed foods, consuming high protein meals and getting in our recommended water intake in daily. Move your body daily. 💧 Fairly vague and mainly because everyone is at a different level of fitness but the everyone should be training/exercising 3-5 times a week. My current routine would be to train 5 days and rest 2 days per week but that’s been built up over time. Even on those rest days, you get your body moving in some way even if you feel like it seems pointless, trust me it’s not. Almost everyone knows that endorphins are released during excerise which means you’ll feel better after than you did before. Create personal time daily. 💆🏽 To be the best version of yourself, you need time to isolate, unwind and reflect. You can either seek complete silence and try to calm the mind or you can put your favourite playlist on and start drawing. In a world where every decision carries so much weight… it’s important to feel free and creative for a while. 7-8 hours sleep. 🌙 One of the biggest factors that will contribute to poor mental health. Schedule 7-8 hours of sleep in every night. Decide a bedtime and a time to wake up and stick to it religiously. Get to bed 1 hour earlier than you’re used to as nothing good happens after 10:30pm anyway, it’s all just binge TV, social media scrolling and late night texts from someone you don’t need to be talking to.
