@nourishingapothecary: Chronic fatigue completely changed my life when I was 18. Mine developed after glandular fever, and at the time I had no idea what was happening or how I was going to get better. Eventually I became so unwell that I had to withdraw from university. Years later, becoming a naturopath completely changed the way I understood what I had experienced. And it’s one of the reasons I have so much empathy for people who come into clinic with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia. I know how debilitating it can be when your energy disappears and suddenly your normal life feels impossible. When someone presents with persistent fatigue, I don’t think there is one universal protocol. We need to understand their individual story. What happened around the time it began? Was there an infection or viral illness? What else was happening physiologically? How are they sleeping? What is happening with their stress response and nervous system? Are there nutritional deficiencies or other medical causes that need investigating? What other symptoms appeared alongside the fatigue? From there, treatment needs to be individualised. The goal isn’t to throw everything at the body at once. It’s to work through what may be contributing, support recovery appropriately and hopefully watch that symptom list become shorter and shorter over time. If you’re struggling with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, Jess is one of our naturopaths at Nourishing Apothecary who works extensively with complex chronic presentations. We offer consultations Australia-wide via Zoom. Off topic 😅 but I was looking into starting to drink filtered water and stop drinking tap water. Is a plumber recommended to come place one in if I want it for long term and if so is there any specific filter you recommend?

What about the tired after exercise. I can’t do cardio without being in bed for days. Use to love exercise but now all I can do is Pilates or yoga.

Some time ago, I was diagnosed with herpes. At first, I felt overwhelmed, scared, and uncertain about what the future would hold. I spent countless hours searching for information, reading about different treatment options, and trying to understand how to manage the condition. Like many people, I hoped to find something that would completely eliminate the virus, but I soon learned that herpes is a lifelong viral infection and that current medical treatments focus on managing symptoms, reducing outbreaks, and lowering the risk of transmission@herbalist kamson
