I have seen this twice in my career of bridge construction and holding a emergency contract in NYS. This could have bern much worse i have seen girders severrd. One had 4 out of 5 girders severed. Nothing to do but post and lift to get traffic flowing then demolition of impacted soans. The insurance companies dont like therse events snf he wS not travelling at the posted speed limit looking st the damage to the lift. Thats why we strap doen sll booms thry bounce at every bump snd eventually hit structures. That bottowvis a easy fix with hydraulics and a few sessions with a rosebud they got off easy with this bridge strike
