I feel really bad for most people in the comment section. When I went to pay I had always known that it was a stage we had to go through in order to be with my wife that I love . In doing it and saving up it gives you the assurance of what you are willing to sacrifice for the one that you love. As a man who is devoted to saying you love someone that’s a moment you show how much you are really willing to sacrifice for the woman you love.If you truly love your wife like Christ loves the church you would not think about the money aspect of it . I was blessed with an amazing wife and the value she has brought to my life makes me want to go and pay more to her parents .Yes I might have paid a big sum of money but it all depends on who you are getting married to and why you are getting married. If you are still stressing about Lobola what about when you plan a white wedding. As a man just marry someone that you genuinely love and that loves ,that way we will have less men coming here resenting something that is meant to be beautiful

Lobola used to be a family affair. Back in the day, the family would contribute, and cattle would come from your father’s kraal. Somewhere along the way, we lost that tradition. Nowadays, young men are left to hustle for everything on their own. Even the relatives negotiating on your behalf know they won’t be the ones paying, so they can carelessly agree to demands that leave you with a lifetime bill! 🥶😂 We’ve turned lobola tradition into a financial nightmare for young men.

The day honestly I could care less for except seeing my person looking nice and happy. The real decision I've already made at proposal and telling her the money is now there. Now that's a true woman.....one who thinks about kurongeka kwezuva rake👊🏾. Now as men, it's never really about the money but something much deeper and long term. We think of the decision of joining families and loving enough to go and get my parents a daughter and my siblings a sibling. We think of the teammate that we have decided to join forces with in the life journey because if someone pays lobola at a young age he practically wants to win in life e.g getting his first home with the one he loves as a team.
