Martinez is a hidden gem. Very family friendly and community oriented. It’s tucked away but yet close to all the shopping if you want to get out and go to places like concord and Walnut Creek.

Did you look at Orinda and Clayton? Both are nice areas for families. Orinda has great schools too.

I know Brentwood isn't in the bay but I love that area for raising kids. So many parks and open fields for the kids to play.

Walnut creek is honestly the best town to live in. There’s an amazing and safe mall, schools are great, and we have the best weather

Albany is THE place! Amazing schools and you can walk everywhere. Strong sense of community (we call it Smallbany). I moved from NYC and this is the place - close to SF, Marin, Oakland and just everywhere (also got diversity)

We moved to Danville from the east coast and love it! So many families. Friends also love Lafayette and the community there. There are also some great mom / parent groups in Danville and Lafayette to

Here’s my tip, pick the area near the high school. You want your kids to go to. You may think I’m jumping the gun, but time will go very fast. I lived in The Crossings in Concord for 23 years. Check it out. Home sell really fast because it’s the one few neighborhood in Concord that is zoned for Walnut Creek high school. Really great Green space private to the neighborhood.

Personally those areas lean a bit too retirement home-ish to me so if that’s not your speed, i’d check out north oakland (rockridge, temescal, elmwood neighborhoods in berkeley). They’re also pretty old too but you get a younger crowd as well, and you’re closer to the city
