Yes, this is how i was raised. My parents weren't perfect but they did the best they could and I messed up a lot but I'll never forget what my parents taught me 🙏

Kids will always make bad choices and test parents at various stages of their life, but to me it’s like a risk assessment. You can’t completely remove the risk but you can minimise frequency and severity by just being a present parent and raise them right. Set clear boundaries/rules/consequences, be mindful of what they are exposed to and who they hang around. Most importantly be the kind of parent that a child feels able to come to without judgements so if they do get them selves into a bad situation that situation doesn’t become more risky because they didn’t feel able to come to you.
