There was always a dot dot dot. You can’t get from happy ending Steve with Peggy and pretend that Old Steve didn’t show up. The presence of old Steve makes the dot dot dot happen. As does the presence of the shield. Anyone complaining is simply having a hard time accepting that their interpretation of Steve/peggys ending isn’t what they thought it was. Let it go. Endgame is still the culmination of the other films but a sequel to that chapter is now upon us.

oh my god… this is just being picky… endgame was the end to an era but not the end of the mcu. Bro.. its just a format dude and honestly its ominous and endgame came out you had it you liked it and it was good you left and felt the ending. This is doomsday this is the consequence to a branched timeline the TVA doesn’t approve of, in loki there was talk about branched timelines leading to “him” or to “consequences” or “multiversal wars” this is the first time that a timeline issue being left unchecked (steve) causes that branch to lead to a doomsday like that’s so good to complain about an ominous creative decision… a disruption in the world we know… you’re missing the point… “all of you have lived stolen lives” bro

I think it probably would’ve worked better as a mid credit scene rather than them just attaching it to the ending of Endgame so that way the ending still hits. That way it wouldn’t feel that jarring for some who felt like how you did. The scene on its own is fine but I think the placement in Encore is the issue.

love ya Coy! I feel the opposite - I like that the … happens in the movie. When it’s a detached post credit scene I kinda feel like “okay this could just go on YouTube or some clips channel.” The fact that it’s baked into the movie feels more special to me. I understand your apprehension and it is a slippery slope, but for Endgame + Doomsday it just works imo.
