@thesaucymamaa: • 6 thick slices brioche, challah, or Texas toast • 3 large eggs • ¾ cup whole milk • 2 tbsp heavy cream, optional but delicious • 1 tbsp brown sugar • 1 tsp vanilla • ½ tsp cinnamon • Tiny pinch nutmeg • Pinch of salt • 1 tbsp butter, plus more as needed For serving: • Maple syrup • Powdered sugar • Fresh berries or sliced bananas • Butter Whisk the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until completely smooth. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low to medium heat and melt a little butter. Dip each slice of bread into the custard for about 10–15 seconds per side. You want it soaked through slightly, but not falling apart. Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, until deeply golden brown and the center feels set. Add more butter between batches as needed. Serve hot with butter and warm maple syrup. Best trick: use bread that’s a day old or leave fresh slices uncovered for 30–60 minutes first. Slightly dry bread absorbs the custard without turning mushy. #frenchtoast #breakfastideas #brunch #yummy #chef
