i am a teacher (special ed young adults, ages around 16-20), and I draw an absolute line at my personal space. some of my students learned to greet new people with a handshake, which, adorable, but I personally do not like it, so I make it very clear that touching is a no-no - I did show the dirty dancing scene in my classroom before 😅

When they call me teacher or miss I look around the room and ask if there’s someone named teacher present. I have formed a bond with almost enough students to have someone in every period yell, “It’s DOCTOR!”
