The most interesting part about this movie is that, despite the first half portraying their actions as a con, they are all remarkably competent at their jobs, they are good teachers, good drivers and the Park's life are not affected in any way by their actions, meanwhile the protagonist best's friend who was in love with the Park's daughter, the driver and the old lady all are ruined by what they do, the only "con" was taking away opportunities from people just like them just to slip into another position of subjugation to the higher class

for me, the most heartbreaking fact is the ending song that plays the credits, the original working title was "564 years", it would have been the amount of time it would take Ki-Woo to save up money to purchase the home 🥺 if I had to erase a movie from memory and watch for the first time ever it would be this one 🖤

I’ll never forget this movie winning best picture. I was so sure 1917 would win it cause it’s technically the safest choice. Yet, the Korean movie about criticizing the upper class was the one that resonated with the Academy and for that, I am grateful.

my favourite detail is that, in the script, the doorbell sfx triggered by the old maid to check on her husband is exactly in the middle of the page, of which is the middle page of the whole script

Great video! Years ago I made a joke that Parasite is kind of what happens if the premise of Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia was taken seriously. With the format of them commiting schemes to get on top of the social ladder. Except Its Always Sunny is deliberately farcical and Parasite is more serious and deliberately constructed.

Parasite is one of my top favorite movies, and changed my perspective on so much at the time. Mrs Park talking about the beautiful weather after the rain while the Kim family lost everything because of it helped me to see how some things that may be great for me, may be worse for others. This breakdown was fantastic, so thank you Kaden!!!!
