About 20 years ago, I worked at a software company. I had an analyst that I needed to process something. The CFO was borrowing him for a report. I was desperate. I needed my employee. The CFO said I could only get my guy back if the VP of sales said he no longer needed the report. So I checked with Sales... He laughed at me. He said he had IT automate the report a year ago. He never told the CFO it was automated.
