@mistithorpe: CORIE WALSH UPDATE — AS LINDSAY CLANCY HEADS BACK TO COURT TUESDAY More details are emerging in the case of Corie Walsh, the Illinois mother charged with first-degree m—– in the d–– of her 2-year-old son, Barrett. Witnesses told investigators that Walsh had become very invested in the Lindsay Clancy trial and was discussing the case with friends on September 1 — the same day Barrett d—. Now we’re learning more about what was happening in the hours leading up to his d––. According to her defense attorney, Walsh and her family had been planning a Disney World vacation since January. Flights, hotel rooms, dining reservations and park passes had reportedly already been arranged. Her attorney says that just hours before Barrett’s d––, Corie was messaging her mother about the upcoming trip and said she was especially excited for Barrett to experience Disney because he loved Bluey and Mickey Mouse. We’ve also now seen previous Facebook posts showing Corie writing lovingly about Barrett and sharing family photos before his d––. Corie has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree m—–. Her defense maintains that she was experiencing psychosis at the time of Barrett’s d––. According to her attorney, Corie’s family continues to support her. In a recent interview, the attorney said she prays for Corie, is worried about her and believes Corie needs psychiatric treatment. Her husband has also appeared in court in support of her. And then there is the connection that first brought so much attention to this case: Lindsay Clancy. Witnesses told investigators Corie had been closely following Lindsay’s trial and discussing it just hours before Barrett was found. And now Lindsay herself is due back in court Tuesday, September 29. Following the mistrial, Lindsay’s defense has several major issues before Judge William Sullivan, including its renewed request for a required finding of not guilty, its argument that double jeopardy should prevent another trial, and its request for an inquiry involving the lone holdout juror. The first jury ultimately stood 11–1 in favor of finding Lindsay not criminally responsible. So before Tuesday gets here, I want your predictions: What do you think happens at Lindsay Clancy’s hearing? Do any of the defense motions get granted? Does the judge allow further inquiry into the holdout juror? Or are we headed toward the possibility of Lindsay Clancy Trial #2? 👇 Tell me what you think. #CorieWalsh #LindsayClancy #BarrettWalsh #TrueCrime
