I think Cuba has a good answer to socially conservative values in the global south, communism allows for the measures to cease bigotry. Cuba was homophobic prior to the revolution, was homophobic decades into the revolution, and became one of the most lgbt friendly countries via education focused on lgbt and gender affirming care. they've created a space for queer ppl to live freely.

i am italian and we have lots of elderly people who took part in communist movements back in the day (it's basically a roulette on whether your grandpa is a commie or a fascist in here) but even if they hold communist beliefs, lots of them are against most of the lgbtqia+ ideologies. i guess they're just stuck in the past, i understand how the two beliefs can coexist in a person, although i don't think they should

They are all communist in name alone. There is no communist who is “socially right sided” for they are no communist, they are a self preservationist. When class is in discussion, a communist would know you can’t abolish your own, for sake of your own gain, whilst perpetuating the oppression, or even creating of a new one. All communists, inherently, must be progressive at all epochs, because it is intrinsically the right thing for us all, not because of any moral righteousness

I find these ideological blind spots fascinating. I mostly chalk it up to capitalist “democracies” awarding these liberal social freedoms to their people as a release valve to placate so they don’t have to make meaningful economic changes.

Someone already mentioned it but I agree; without intersectionality, communism won’t be possible. You have to address all of the problems and where they intersect and affect each other to be able to make real change. And by upholding baseless social views while toting the commie narrative is counterintuitive. You don’t really want change, you just want equal opportunity for yourself.
