Older folk struggle w memory, the hot or cold pavement hitting her foot is a physical reminder. It’s not necessary saying she is always forgetting the baby when she has them but it’s a precaution incase her memory ever does fail her.

it's not that shoes are more important than the child. it's that when you step out of the car you notice you only have one shoe on and this is a reminder. it's just a common precaution that people take because leaving a child in a car for even a couple mins can be deadly.

Better and more important point is. Don’t drive with 2 feet in a car that isn’t a stick. If there’s and emergency and you panic you are more likely to hit both pedals and you won’t stop might not even slow down if your breaks are worn down.

I forget when my kids AREN'T in the car. I'll be driving to work and constantly looking in my rear view trying to find them 😂 in all seriousness, if it helps more people remember there is a child in the car and prevents more deaths then so be it.

Listen routines & a tired brain on autopilot will mess shit up. I used to work at a grocery store. I once went shopping after a closing shift, mostly to pick up a few days worth of things for the weekend. Went home, dropped all my work shit & groceries on the floor, & then proceeded to get ready for bed cuz it was 11pm at night & I was tired af. I left all my cold groceries, meat & everything, sitting on my living room floor for 12 hrs just cuz my brain accidentally went into autopilot as soon as I got into my car at work. Thankfully it was food & not a kid but the point remains the same. When ur tired & ur brain starts running on autopilot u can forget impt things, like kids.

ive been a mom for 14 years. I got 4 kids. ive never forgotten any of my children lol. ive never had to leave anything in the back with my kids to remember they are back there 🤣. like why would I remember my shoe but not my child tf?
