@calisoberquinn: Sometimes “you’re always the victim” is just a way to shift the conversation away from what actually happened. Instead of addressing the behavior that hurt you, suddenly the problem becomes your reaction to it. Holding someone accountable isn’t playing the victim. Talking about how their actions affected you isn’t playing the victim. And setting boundaries because you’re tired of the same behavior repeating isn’t playing the victim. Sometimes people would rather criticize how you responded than take responsibility for what you were responding to.
