Is this a good hook? I watched my friends play through the window, their laughter reaching me while my books and pencil lay forgotten on the table. It was around 3pm on Friday, just a few minutes after I got home from school. I wanted to join them in playing ampe, a game popular among young girls, more than I feared the scolding my father would give me for not focusing on my assignments. I was supposed to finish my assignments before heading to my 7pm evening class once I got back from the first one.
