he was scared of yuji getting a normal combat knife (don’t even say he was shocked scared and shocked are synonyms but not directly) he needed to use rct to kill kurourshi after ryu demonstrated that he can easily damage kurourshi with just a normal beam that wasnt full output, and also hes damn near useless in the shinjuku showdown because he needs the best of the best techniques to carry him

fraud yuta Well first lets start with the fact that his physical stats are mediocre for a special grade, he even admits this while fighting Yuji, the only reason he can hit harder is by reinforcing his body with the Cursed Energy he gets from RIKA, then theres also the fact that he can’t use “his” Cursed Technique when Rika isn’t fully manifested, and even if the copy technique seems “OP” because of the amount of techniques he can hold you gotta remember that Versatility ≠ Strength. then he stole gojo’s body (which is extremely disrespectful) and faulting hideously with it, and was overall a messy gamble and extremely disrespectful. And relied fully on takaba to do anything against kenjaku, didn’t even help or do anything to help takaba later on in the fight, choosing to bush camp AND in the same instant needing todo to get him to the bush via the vibraslap. he was also using a literal child as a weapon against Sukuna, Yuta had Toge Inumaki use his technique on a tape recorder against Sukuna's domain. Inumaki, who was already missing an arm, took massive damage from having it used on Sukuna. All for a single use attack. And he was gonna be cooked against Yuji, we know he was out to genuinely kill Yuji, and Yuji was holding back against him as seen in the manga, and once he lost his main weapon Yuji was gonna attack he NEEDED rika to stop Yuji because he wouldn’t been cooked without her, The moment Yuji broke Yuta's sword, Yuta didn't even try to throw hands or rely on his massive pool of cursed energy, he immediately summoned Rika to grab Yuji from behind so he could land a free hit, LIKE A BUM! And one last reason, he couldn’t even beat or overpower kurouroshi, he needed to French kill the bug cause without rika he was worse in everything than Kuro, literally Kurourushi landed clean hits on Yuta easily. Kuro sliced open Yuta’s shoulder and abdomen, causing larvae and curse bugs to literally sprout out of Yuta's open flesh, and Yuta couldn’t do anything, ONCE AGAIN WITHOUT RIKA. He also has 0 character development, he just dipped in season 2 to go to Africa and came back top 3 in the verse.
