I was born and raised on Guam. I lived in the village of Yigo. When I was in middle school I would have to wake up at 5:00 in the morning to shower for school while everyone was still asleep. Our shower was outside the house by the way and we would have to walk to the faucet and connect the hose to turn the water on. Well one morning I when I went outside it just felt very weird because it was so windy and the moon was so bright and full. Well I turned the water on and as I turned around to walk towards the shower a tall Taotaomona ran right by me and stopped and looked around. I wasn’t scared but I was like am I really seeing this. I saw his body and the wrap that the men would use. But when he was looking around I couldn’t see a face. But afterwards he ran into the jungle but before he even got to the jungle he disappeared.

My dad was drunk one night and peed on taotaomona tree infront of my house the next day he had a big red pinch mark on his thigh he went to the doctor but they couldn’t find what was wrong with him and it kept getting worse my mom took him to the doctor 5 times and they still couldn’t figure out what was wrong him until my mom decided to take him to the suruhåna in tali she proceeded to tell my mom everything that happened that night in full detail

My mom an I used to live in chalan pago in apasento, and we had a taotaomona tree behind our apartment. One day my mom suddenly got sick and no one knew what was wrong with her. so my grandma took my mom to a suruhåna, and she said that there was a woman and a man, and the man liked my mom and that made the girl jealous of my mom so the woman made my mom sick. Also my dad had a small encounter when he was alone in the house. He said the fan turned on by itself and when he checked the fan wasn’t even plugged in. And when I was little at night my siblings said that when I whistled wind would blow in the room when the window was open.

my mom and brother went to back of the house one night to get pugua and my brother was holding the flash light for her while she trying to pick pugua.. my brother was looking around the area while holding the flash light for my mom, but while he was looking at the area and its pitch black btw, i believe it was like pretty late.. my brother was looking at a certain area and he saw a taotaomona staring at him but he was calm and ignored it. while my mom was picking and just checking if my brother was okay and looking around she saw another one staring at them too and they both saw two different taotaomonas, my mom also didn’t wanna say anything just so he won’t get scared or paranoid btw but my brother wasn’t really bothered by them ..after they were done picking pugua they walked back to the garage and my brother wasn’t like “mom did you see that?” my mom asked “no what did you see” he told her was he saw and my mom was like “i saw one too but i didn’t want to scare u” then she tells him the was she saw and my brother said “no mom i saw a different one” and well turns out they both saw 2 different ones and they were watching them..

i experience them turning theirselves into a family member of mine & i followed right behind. lucky thing my mom came to check me & stopped me bc in the back of my house is pitch black. she asked me what i was doing & i told her that one of my family members were in the back & never came back yet. just to find out they’ve been at the store the whole time.

I was knocking on the walls at my uncles house to a rhythm and everybody was outside so I’m knocking on the walls tryna drum and right after the same beat knocks back and later that night I was crashed out and woke up in the middle of the night and kept hearing whistling and laughing but everybody was sleeping

Im from Rota so my belief in things such as this is very strong. Grew up in pågat , Guam. I was 7 , playing with my sister and cousins while picking cherries and tangerines. All the other kids were running around yelling and playing and I just happened to stop and see a very translucent figure of a woman with long hair floating by amongst the plants and trees. I remembered i panicked so bad i couldnt yell , i just scrambled and ran with so much fear in my heart.

my mom was asleep & I was playing outside pass 6 when I wasn’t supposed to . I was running around chasing baby chicks , when they ran into the jungle i followed & right when I stepped foot in the jungle i slipped & the part that goes between your toes in a slipper looked like it sliced me . I’m talking I SEEN BLOOD & A GASH . when I ran in the house to tell my mom , I got yelled at of course 😭 & when I went to show her there was nothing there . I believe that was a warning from them telling me I knew I wasn’t supposed to be out there

Born in Guam, went to LBJ Elementary. There was this big tree there, one story I remember my teacher sharing w the class is that one year all the teachers and staffs took a group photo in front of the tree. When they took a look at the film they noticed faces were popping out of the tree. They told us it was the Taotaomonas. She wouldn’t show us the picture but she did say it stays in the office if anyone wanted to go and try and ask to take a peek. Always been curious if it was true or just a story

I went crabbing with my uncle we went deep in where the taotaomona trees were then we were walking finding big crabs and minding our own business then they were whistling at us and there were these two trees where a tall figure was standing near the road then we saw light we followed the light just to be where a river then we were walking it felt like we were walking in the same place again and again in the same place I asked my grandma why were we walking in the same place and she said they were tricking us then we find our way out of the jungle started shaking and scared cause that was my first time hearing them whistle at me and tricking us.

I have many but I’ll share 1. Location setting: back road, in a detached room from the main house. My bf (at the time) and I got into an argument and he left. Just a few minutes after, I hear a knock on the door and what sounded like my bf telling me to open the door (it wasn’t locked). I go to open it and he wasn’t there, only a big dark shadow that slipped into my room and went into a corner. I didn’t feel any negativity towards it. I actually felt protected, like he was there to make sure I was okay. Soon after that, my bf came back and we started arguing again. He was sat on the edge of the bed and I was standing in front of him. Suddenly, it looked as though someone kicked the bed. I saw the bed bend where it looked liked it was kicked and my bf bounced too and asked me with a freaked out expression why I knocked the bed. I told him “you see my feet planted into front of you. It wasn’t me, it was probably him” and I pointed up over my head. My bfs eyes followed my finger than his face went pale and he ran out the room. The taotaomona remind in my room for the rest of the night. Just in its corner watching me play Crash Bandicoot till I crashed out lol.
