Yes! Strangulation can cause brain damage as well. It’s important to get a medical check up asap. And if you are dismissed by the doctor, ask for a second opinion. And if they still refuse to treat you, ask them to note their reason in the file (and it better be an official reason) ask them to read it back to you, and watch them sign the medical log (or hit the ‘enter’ button). Take a picture if you can. Then ask the doctor for the correct spelling of their name. Some doctors will dismiss women unless they see the possibility of a potential lawsuit.

This is true the issue is the emergency room contacts the police. This causes some to try to handle it at home.

Absolutely, everything you said: I was subjected to a brutal, prolonged assault last year with 4 counts of non-fatal strangulation with loss of consciousness and bladder control...police didn't seek medical treatment for me; I wasn't in my right mind as CPTSD was fully retriggered, and I said no to an ambulance and my Drs when home refused care when I reached out for help. A year on, and I'm only now coming out of a vicious CRPS and Fibromyalgia flare caused by the assault, and I can now seek medical attention for what appears to be permanent damage... failed by the police, who still haven't charged him, having held him overnight and for more than 24 hours and the NHS...to this day I don't know where I found the strength to resist him for so long (his neighbours literally saved me) or how I made the 150-mile train journey home even with fully assisted travel as I'm disabled.
