It's true. My ex-husband was very abusive to the point that he said he wanted to "blow your [my] brains out". He also screamed at our priest because he didn't like what he said about his behavior in the marriage when we went for marriage counseling. On another occasion, he was so angry about a ticket that he received from a cop for speeding that he wanted to unalive him. When I left him, he ended up leaving to go to the Philippines to find a wife. He never wanted to travel before but he was so angry and fed up with "American" women. I was the 2nd wife he did this to. There is no way he would treat a 3rd wife better. He will appear so kind and charming until he gets your commitment and you have any interests outside the household. Yet, I have seen content on here from other Filipino women that talk about how they are better wives because we are too fat, don't care about our men and not willing to be traditional. That is not necessarily the case. We are not wanting to be abused and we have a choice. They are absolutely rejected by our culture because if their behavior.

I am a mixed daughter of a Filipino mother and one of those men. He was very racist and a pedo (no longer alive) and 20 years older than my mom. He used to tell his guy friends to “go to the Philippines to find a good [submissive] wife”. When my mom stopped catering to him, he came after me.
