I’m having trouble accepting this, though, because he had the hard conversation with me, many times, but then I kept wanting to have it because I was still uneasy, and he got sick of being overwhelmed. I never thought he would suddenly abandon me, but I understand that I pushed him away.

She was upset with me and instead of telling me and talking it out, she distanced herself from me and i never knew anything was wrong for a whole year… she just got married yesterday and i wasn’t even invited to the wedding all over a misunderstanding that could’ve been hashed out if she just told me

I stopped being willing to start the hard conversations and that’s when the friendship drifted. My husband sucks at hard conversation and wants to sweep things under the rug. I can’t have a friendship like that too.

i think it's important to know the difference between someone who needs time to process things and someone who keeps avoiding the conversation. one may genuinely need space before they're ready to talk. the other might keep you waiting without ever intending to address the problem. that's why it's worth paying attention to what happens after you give them space

yep! opened the door to a conversation about not feeling shown up for and all i got was excuses and defensiveness and they had the audacity to tell me this needed to be a bigger conversation like girl that’s what i’m trying to do

I gave up and blocked her access to me now. The door was open for two years. She proved it was worth closing. She has an indirect way, if she ever realizes she was blocked (she hasn’t)
