@getreeldad: But more importantly, they need to see what you do after you fall down. 🍃 What do you do? How do you talk to yourself? How do you talk about yourself? Do you give up? Do you get frustrated? A million and one positive lessons to your child about how they should act when they fail can all be undone in one moment when they see how you respond to failure. IF, you don’t treat yourself with the same grace and patience you give them. 🫶🏼 Depending on the type of failure, you can laugh about it. You can get serious about it and try again. Some failures hurt deep and they hurt long. Those can be the hardest because they aren’t handled in a moment. You can talk about it. You can tell them how it feels. You can show what it means to lose and be a good sport. But most important, you can show them that failure is part of life and how to use it to be successful.🏆 You don’t have to be perfect — in fact it’s better if you don’t even try to pretend. But just remember that they’re watching what you do and they’ll remember it better than anything you ever say. 🤍
