Only 50% of People Can Do This #vision Around 50% of people have the ability to voluntarily blur their vision by consciously relaxing their eye muscles. This phenomenon occurs when someone intentionally unfocuses their eyes, often by relaxing the muscles responsible for adjusting the lens of the eye (the ciliary muscles). This skill is somewhat similar to the process that happens when you shift your gaze from something near to something far away, but in this case, it's done at will. How Voluntary Blurring Works: Relaxing the Lens: To blur their vision, individuals relax the ciliary muscles, which control the shape of the lens in the eye. Normally, these muscles contract to focus on objects at different distances. When they relax, the lens flattens, leading to a defocused or blurred image. Mindful Focus: People who can voluntarily blur their vision tend to achieve this by softly gazing into space or through an object without trying to focus on anything specific. This allows the eyes to fall into a more passive state, resulting in a blurred effect. Why Only Some Can Do It: Natural Variability: Not everyone can blur their vision on command. Like other physical abilities, such as wiggling your ears or raising a single eyebrow, voluntary eye blurring seems to come naturally to some while others can’t achieve it at all. This may be due to differences in eye muscle control or how people learn to focus and relax their eyes. #unique #body #interesting
