Restricting a customer’s account without providing reasonable information or clarification can place the customer in a very difficult position, especially when they rely on the account for their daily financial needs. Equally concerning is when a customer sends emails seeking clarification and receives no response. Customers deserve timely communication and a clear explanation of what is required from them to resolve the matter. Banks have compliance obligations, but customers also deserve fair treatment, proper communication and respect.
