@asphalttoink: The West Boulevard Crips became identified with the West Boulevard area of South Los Angeles during the city’s broader expansion of Crip sets in the 1970s and 1980s. By the late 1980s, the group was established enough that the Los Angeles Times reported on a West Boulevard apartment complex being used as one of its bases during the crack era. Like many L.A. Crip sets, blue became part of the visual identity, but the real story is the neighborhood itself—the blocks, apartment buildings, street corners, and generations of residents who lived through a period when gang boundaries shaped everyday life across much of Los Angeles #AsphaltToInk #WestBoulevard #SouthLA #LosAngelesHistory #StreetHistory
