PLACENTA ACCRETA SURVIVOR 🤍 I survived… but a part of me was left behind in that operating room. I became a mom that day. But that same day, I also lost a part of myself. Nobody really prepares you for the kind of pain that doesn’t come from the incision. The pain of waking up and realizing that the body you knew before… will never be exactly the same again. Everyone sees the baby. Everyone sees that you survived. Everyone says, “At least okay na kayo ni baby.” And yes… I am grateful. So, so grateful that I survived. Grateful that I get to hold my baby. Grateful that I was given another chance to live. Pero behind that gratitude is a woman who is still grieving. Grieving the body she used to have. Grieving the future she once imagined. Grieving the life she thought she would have. Minsan, tahimik lang akong napapaisip… “May kulang na ba sa akin?” “Will I ever feel like myself again?” “Kaya ko pa kayang mahalin yung sarili ko the way I did before?” Maybe these questions are part of my healing. Because losing my uterus did not make me less of a woman. Losing my fallopian tube did not erase my identity. Pero hindi ibig sabihin na hindi masakit mawalan. I can be grateful that my life was saved and still mourn what I lost. I can love my baby with everything in me and still cry for the woman I was before that operating room. I can be strong and still have days when I feel broken. Hindi ako less of a woman. Hindi ako incomplete. I am a woman who survived Placenta Accreta. A woman who went through something I never imagined I would have to face. A woman who lost parts of her body… but found a strength she never knew she had. And maybe someday, when I look at myself in the mirror, I won’t only see the scars. Maybe I’ll see the woman who fought to stay alive. The woman who chose to keep going. The woman who came home to her baby. For now, I am learning to love this new version of me— scarred, changed, grieving, healing… but still here. I may have lost a part of my body. But I did not lose my worth. I did not lose my womanhood. And I did not lose myself. I survived. I became a mother. I am still a woman. And after everything… I am still me. 🤍 #PlacentaAccretaSurvivor #AccretaSurvivor #SurvivorStory #Motherhood #HealingJourney
