PAKISTAN MINISTER CHALLENGED LIVE OVER TERRORISM CLAIMS Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar* said in a televised interview that there were *“no terrorist camps in Pakistan,” describing Pakistan as a frontline state fighting terrorism on its western borders. But journalist Yalda Hakim immediately challenged that statement by pointing to comments made by Pakistan’s own Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. In an April 2025 Sky News interview, Asif acknowledged Pakistan’s historical involvement in supporting and funding militant organisations, describing it as “dirty work” carried out for the United States and other Western countries. Hakim also referenced earlier controversies surrounding Pakistan’s relationship with militant groups and the Trump administration’s 2018 decision to suspend security assistance amid accusations that Islamabad was not doing enough against terrorism. Tarar additionally raised the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, whom Pakistan accuses of espionage and terrorism. India rejects those allegations and says Jadhav was a retired Indian Navy officer abducted from Iran. The International Court of Justice has recorded that the circumstances of his apprehension remain disputed between India and Pakistan. One interview.
