20 years between these two clips. Look at how fast the electronic components are being placed. In the older clip, the work is slow, with repeated mistakes. In the recent one, the movements are so quick that it looks like they could almost do it blindfolded. I can barely follow one placement before the next begins. That difference makes me think about humanoid robots. They are in the early stages of mass production. I think it is too early to judge their future price from what they cost at this stage. Give it a few years. I expect cheaper models as production grows, though there is no exact date for when an ordinary buyer will consider one affordable. The price alone would not convince me to buy one. I would need to know what it could do every day, how often someone would have to help and what a repair would cost. For a small factory, that could mean asking whether the robot can repeat one useful job throughout a shift. For someone buying one at home, the tasks and the budget would be different. That is where I think the discussion will get more practical. People comparing a robot's cost with the work they need done. These assembly clips remind me how much the pace of a familiar task can change over time. Humanoids have their own path ahead, and I expect plenty of uneven progress along the way. My guess is that affordable models will arrive while people are still arguing about whether anyone needs one. #Robotics #HumanoidRobots #PhysicalAI #Electronics #Manufacturing
