I don't think people understand how Tagalog-centric our country is, anything that is from the Philippines whether it comes from outside the Tagalog regions is immediately Tagalog despite it not really being Tagalog
Unfortunately it says we are the most westernized among all of the other ethnic groups here, because Manila where Tagalogs lived was the center of everything it became more exposed to foreign influences and 2 the fact that we can't seem to recognize our own culture and instead borrow from other regions, I still think rural areas like Batangas still carry heavy Tagalog traditions but it isn't quite visible
You'll notice that a lot of Philippine traditions are actually Visayan or have roots from it. I too feel the need to find our own native heritage as a group of people instead of generalizing anything Filipino as Tagalog, not to create a new contender in the country's heavily regionalistic area, but to find the identity of tagalogs like me who barely know the origin history and actual traditions of their people

LITERALLY!!!!
for as long as this country remains a mess, baybayin cannot be used as the standard written script. If we want to reintroduce baybayin back, it has to be done in phases like emphasizing the Filipino language. But I don't think people had actually considered the fact that Philippines is a diverse country. Promoting one filipino culture and painting over other Filipino cultures had shown consequences. One such example is degrading their language to mere "dialects". It does more damage than good.

I just wanted to both comment and ask:
Comment: Baybayin isn't just Tagalog centric (the term *IS* Tagalog, but the script isn't just Tagalog), many argue that the Suyat Script known as Baybayin is a [Tagalog] regional variant of the wider indigenous writing systems; having Visayan, Bikol, and Iloko varients (Badlit, Basahan, Kurditan). Having said this I also get the argument since ethnic groups like the: Merenaw, Tausug, Mindoro, Kapampangan (though the Kulitan Script is debatable), have their own scripts. If they really want to make Baybayin as the national writing system, it should *only* be used for Filipino, and Luzon-Visayan Languages.
Question: Opinions on the modern variations of Baybayin?

Until we all recognized that there are different dialects in the Philippines as a local. Then we can accept new dialects in our life.
