𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐨 - 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 How I assigned the five vocal parts in the final chorus of this: I began with composer Vivek Maddala’s published transcription, which identifies Bobby Kimball, Timothy B. Schmit, Steve Lukather, and David Paich as the singers and maps their parts in the regular chorus. However, the final chorus is more heavily overdubbed and does not appear to use exactly the same stack. Listening closely to the final chorus, I could hear an additional F♯ beneath the familiar A and C♯ parts. At “I bless the…,” the combined pitches form a complete F♯ minor voicing: F♯–A–C♯, with A doubled. I assigned the lines by comparing vocal timbre, register, phrasing, scoops, and melodic continuity across the entire passage—not from pitch alone. This led to the following reconstruction: Bobby Kimball: two overdubbed lines Timothy B. Schmit: F♯ Steve Lukather: C♯ David Paich: A The two Bobby lanes represent separate studio overdubs, not two singers performing simultaneously. Because no official isolated multitracks are publicly available, the singer-by-singer attribution should be understood as an evidence-based reconstruction rather than a definitively confirmed session breakdown... #toto #80s #80smusic
