You could have done the same by supporting research. Published research or procedures are just want one team concluded. Another team definitely could have done the research and found the same result of 120 seconds being better as their conclusion. Just finding more ways to pay less people with this technology

I have found that as a research area gets more explored, then the low-hanging fruit is gone and it takes more scientific equipment to make more incremental improvements

it may sounds trivial, but isn't it true for most of the things? E.g. in cooking, you may have best recipe, the exact same that some top chef is using, but it's hard to achieve the same results due to some little, unwritten touches/adjustments that are being missed. Similar with studying, artisan work, programming or managing business.

This would also be very useful in the restaurant industry for cooking standards. Correlated with the results and you effectively can calibrate any piece of kitchen equipment exactly.

Visiting B&O factory some 10 odd years ago. There was one dedicated 6 axis robot hand moving around wildly a piece in it's hand over the belt grinder. it sweeped the part back and forth at different angles. Then suddenly it moved away , turned the part strangely all around, and continued polishing. We were told that the work was trained by the designer. All his hand movements were recorded exactly like he did it. And this strange pause in between... it was the moment when designer was checking if the surface was good enough.

I was able to increase my mini prep yields when doing 10ish or more samples at a time by placing the tubes on those tilter thingies right after adding the N3 in a qiagen kit. It went from like 350ng/mL to like 550ng/mL

Now how do you accurately communicate that to the other team members. I garuntee that “magic hands” person has been trying and failing for years. At least now the teacher will be able to definitively say no in fact you didn’t do exactly as I asked and here’s proof. If even one single instance of the bot mislabeling movement as a false negative all trust in the whole building will fly out the window from everyone who’s ego is far too fragile to ever risk being taught anything from another person or seen as wrong by someone of perceived lower class/hierarchy

Probably had this as well with a classmate, she kept getting wrong results. Eventually I got asked to check everything, monitoring her steps and even do the test myself using the same reagents she used. Somehow she her results were horrible and mine weren't 😅
