Terrance Williams (27) is currently missing, and was last seen by Deputy Steve Calkins who claimed he dropped him off at a nearby gas station. On January 11th, 2004, Terrance attended a party with friends, but was not supposed to be driving due to his license being suspended. After not returning home January 12th, his roommate contacted his mother Marcia Williams and she immediately contacted authorities. Shortly after, Terrance’s car was found at Naples Memorial Cemetery and was towed for obstructing traffic. Deputy Calkins requested the tow, he initially denied remembering the request. He later changed his story, stating that Terrance was experiencing car trouble and claimed he asked for a ride to a nearby Circle K gas station. Marcia eventually filed a complaint against Deputy Calkins due to the lack of information and attention he was providing for her son's case. The sheriff’s department became concerned after discovering a similar case in October 2003. Felipe Santos was the driver of a car crash investigated by Deputy Calkins. Felipe didn't have a driver's license or insurance. Deputy Calkins put Felipe in his patrol car, and claimed he dropped him off at Circle K to call for a ride. Felipe Santos was never seen again, and is still considered a missing person. The Collier County Sheriff's Office felt they had no probable cause or motive for either case. On February 12, 2004 Internal Affairs brought in Deputy Calkins for an interview and a polygraph test. In August 2004, Internal Affairs investigation came to a close and all complaints against Deputy Calkins were sustained.
