I mean that’s the thing with master sets, the majority of the cards are just checklist items you have no attachment to. It’s cool to say it’s completed but I don’t feel there’s much keeping you attached

I would recommend writing a list of ones you want to get rid of now. Wait a MINIMUM of a month. Write a list of what you want to get rid of then. Compare both lists and sell anything that shows up both times! It'll stop you from making any rash decisions

Selling cards/collectibles to buy other things I’d rather have over a decade has really helped me get in tune with what I truly value and appreciate. I used to have hoards of things that I didn’t resonate with and now my collection truly has identity and has been curated to my taste. Couldn’t be happier.

100%. I’m currently selling 90% of my Funko pops because I’m just tired of collecting them. It’s been 7 years, I’ve cut down my collection in 4 waves, and now working on the 5th. I’m keeping my absolute favorites, and that’s it. Starting Pokemon and Digimon cards now to replace!

I had this! I attempted to master set like 2-4 sets and the dopamine died real quick, but doing an IR or better Pokédex??? Oh I LOVE it every new set I get excited about what I can add

I enjoy master sets because I like the feeling of slowly picking up pieces here and there but then also I get conflicted because if o really like a card I don’t want keep it in the master set I want it to be in like my own binder where I can put it together with other cool cards but then do I have to get two of them?

Maybe you could organize the binders with the moshi method within the master set? Gives you a creative outlet to not find them boring, maybe it will solidify how you feel about them before you just sell them off.

Advice from a hoarder who keeps everything 😅! You could keep them but just break them up and pull from them to build and start other curated binders! Then set the non-used cards in an ETB and if you ever wanted to have the master set again it would be there!

I ended up in a financial position that I needed to sell cards the first things I took apart where my half done masters sets, I kept my artists binder and species Pokémon and sold pretty much everything else. I don't miss the masters sets at all.
