@َ:To everyone with a voice, to everyone who has the power to do something for women in Iraq and contribute to change: Please, amplify my voice to women's rights organizations. Imagine being born into a life that feels like a prison. Imagine being taught that your entire existence must revolve around a husband and child, that your worth depends on how well you please them, how silent and patient you are, how much of yourself you are willing to give up. Then, even the child you dedicated your life to can be taken from you. In my country, women have never been given enough space to be human beings in their own right. We are expected to be mothers, wives, and caregivers before we are allowed to be individuals with our own dreams, choices, voices, and lives. And now, even motherhood itself can be taken from us. How much more must women lose before the world hears their voices? Please, hear our voices. Help us be seen. Do not allow Iraqi women to continue to hide behind laws, traditions, and systems that were never built to protect them.
